You want me to fall on down Under water, just to drown Wouldn’t do This to you Wouldn’t do This to you Like a crow, you pick me apart It looks like you have no heart Wouldn’t do This to you Wouldn’t do This to you They kick you down Then you stand up They kick you down Then you stand up Why don’t you just push me away There is nothing that I could say Wouldn’t do This to you Wouldn’t do This to you Am I worth having around There won’t be a change in sound Wouldn’t do This to you Wouldn’t do This to you They kick you down Then you stand up They kick you down Then you stand up They kick you down Then you stand up They kick you down Then you stand up

On and On 04:07
Just woke up from a good dream Not a good sign for my day Easy Easy Gonna go see the parade Are they hiding frowns on their faces Feeling lonely will just kill me inside Guess I will go Easy Easy You go on and on You go on and on You go on and on You go on and on I’m not one for talking out loud I’m sorry about how I sound Why can’t I just sit over here and hide Guess I will go Easy Easy You go on and on You go on and on You go on and on You go on and on

about

Elliott’s new single “Kick You Down” is a continuation of “What’s Wrong” and it is a literal kick to the gut with its sentiment and lyrical content. It was recorded at 4am in his bedroom during one of his many nights of feeling dissociated from the rest of the world at the time. And the b-side to this single called “On and On” follows with a poppier vibe alongside words expressing the desire to get away from a structured society while seemingly wanting to be accepted at the same time. The beauty of these songs lies in their blunt honesty paired with Elliott’s gentle vocals, as if he’s trying to sound nice while navigating through his dejected emotions. And the fact that these are his first to be released on the Kill Rock Stars label shows that he finally found his home under the same roof that released his favorite Elliott Smith records. It’s on and on from here and Elliott hopes to take you along for the journey.
